Covid-19: Government Releases First HIDE List

The government has published the first list of premises flagged as potential Covid-19 hotspots that were identified through the Hotspots Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE).

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the publication of the list will help the public make reasonable travel plans and decisions before heading to a location or premises to avoid risks of getting infected by Covid-19.

The publication of the list, said Khairy, will also serve as a guideline for owners and operators to take precautionary measures to protect and prevent their premises from becoming a source of Covid-19 outbreak.

“For the past seven days, the country recorded 23,712 new Covid-19 cases while the coronavirus case referrals to the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) has increased by 21 per cent compared to last week,” he said in a statement today.

Most of the premises flagged as Covid-19 hotspots by HIDE are located in Selangor followed by Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, Sarawak, Sabah, Putrajaya, Perak, Kelantan as well as one each in Melaka and Negri Sembilan.

Below are the list of the Covid-19 hotspots identified by HIDE:
