Low cost airline, AirAsia, has launched AirAsia Shop, an e-tail platform that enables customers to purchase authentic duty free products which will be conveniently delivered to their doorstep within the next working day.
The new service, with the support of AirAsia’s logistics arm, Teleport, allows merchants to capture a wider overseas market compared with AirAsia Ourshop that focuses more on the domestic market.
Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the newly-transformed business unit further solidified AirAsia’s foray into becoming a fully integrated one-stop digital lifestyle platform whilst providing customers with convenient and value-for-money duty free shopping.
He said the company is also looking to expand its business further into other ASEAN countries, kicking off with Thailand as it has just received the necessary approvals to roll out its duty free business there.
Fernandes said AirAsia Shop carries top brands from around the world, ranging from beauty, fragrance, liquor, gadgets, health and wellness, travel accessories, as well as AirAsia merchandise at great value prices.
In addition to in-flight pre-book or airport pick up, he said the airline has introduced home delivery service and 24/7 accessibility, even when shoppers are not travelling, with a plan to expand it to cross-border delivery soon.– BERNAMA
