About 70 Malaysian students celebrated Malaysia Day September 16, at the University of Minnesota, recently.
Among the main activities include a quiz on Malaysia, said Intan Rafeena A. Fauzi, Vice President (External) of the Malaysian Student Association at the University of Minnesota (MASA-UMN), event organizer.
The event was an opportunity to further introduce Malaysia and MASA-UMN plus welcoming the new students to the university.
“MASA-UMN is a cultural organization. Our aim has always been to be a hub where Malaysians abroad could come together, mingle and get to know one another.
“In that sense, we want to be a place where Malaysians could feel a sense of belonging,” she said.
At the same time, the association aims to also to spread the Malaysian culture and hospitality.
“Thus, we always welcome people to attend our event so that they can socialize and learn a bit about our culture.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the new students to the university.
“Congratz! You’ve made it!”
After wishing Happy Malaysia Day to all, she also informed that, if anyone is interested to be a part of MASA, they can apply next spring. – BACALAHMALAYSIA.MY
