Perodua has handed over five Myvis to the Selangor contingent of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) as part of the brand’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Five units of the pre-facelift 3rd generation Myvi will primarily be assigned to selected stations in the Hulu Selangor district, particularly in Serendah, Rasa and Ulu Yam Bharu, with the remaining car heading towards the district headquarters.
Selangor police chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said the cars will compliment their existing fleet of Protons and Honda Civic, while also allowing the police to be closer to the communities by being more leveled and relatable with the public’s choice of vehicle.
Arjunaidi received the keys to the cars from Perodua chairman Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin during a handover ceremony at the carmaker’s headquarters in Rawang.
It houses a 1.5 litre 2NR-VE engine paired to a four-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The front-wheel drive (FWD) powertrain delivers 102 hp and 136 Nm.
