RHB will launch a new Islamic credit card in October 2026, offering a 14% profit rate with no annual fee or compounding finance charges.
The RHB Sinar Credit Card-i is aimed at customers looking for a simpler credit card for everyday spending, without premium rewards or lifestyle benefits.
The card’s 14% per annum retail transaction profit rate is lower than the industry norm, which may reach 18% per annum, according to RHB.

Dato’ Mohd Rashid Mohamad, Group Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of RHB Banking Group, said,
“The RHB Sinar Credit Card-i puts that belief into practice by providing a straightforward and affordable credit option for customers who value simplicity over additional features.
By giving customers greater choices, we hope to help more Malaysians access affordable credit with confidence.”
The new card will join RHB’s existing range of conventional and Islamic credit cards.
Existing RHB credit cardholders will not be affected and can continue using their current cards.
Further details on the RHB Sinar Credit Card-i, including eligibility criteria and product availability, will be announced closer to the official launch in October 2026. – FINTECH NEWS MALAYSIA
