UDA Holdings Bhd will launch two-storey terraced house projects Pisonia Villa Package 2 and Areca Terrace with 53 and 172 units respectively in Bandar UDA Utama with freehold status. The gross development value and selling prices will be revealed at a later date, according to UDA.
According to a statement on Wednesday (Jan 26), UDA president and chief executive officer Mohd Salem Kailany said that the projects will be offered in the middle of this year.
“The 470-acre (about 190.2 hectares) township is strategically located next to the Perling toll [plaza] and surrounded by mature housing estates. Apart from that, it is also close to various facilities as well as [having] easy access to shopping malls, supermarkets, banks and schools,” he added.
Units under Pisonia Ville Package 2 have a built-up of 25ft by 75ft and come with a choice of five or six bedrooms. Areca Terrace units measure 20ft by 65ft, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms as well as 10ft of extended green space for future renovation.
UDA chairman Datuk Norliza Abdul Rahim said: “UDA continues to make strides in planning to develop businesses in the southern region, especially in terms of real estate and shopping malls, with the aim to contribute to the country’s economic growth.”
UDA’s Angsana Johor Bahru Mall had an occupancy rate of 90% last year. To encourage new entrepreneurs to set up their business at UDA-owned shopping complexes, UDA allocated RM3 million a year through the UDA Entrepreneur Incentive Programme (Program Insentif Usahawan UDA). The programme also helped the business continuity during the Covid-19 pandemic and has benefited entrepreneurs at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall.
In boosting activities and business at the mall, various activities will be organised throughout the year, such as”Go-Kart” motor sport, the “Angsana Food Trucks Centre”, “nursery and landscaping” and “car boot sales” .
Supporting local entrepreneurs
Meanwhile, as an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC), UDA has also introduced retail premises named MARI Mart to help local entrepreneurs, especially for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs to market their products. It is located on Level Two, Angsana Johor Bahru Mall with an area of 1,914 sq ft. The retail premises are a collaboration between UDA and TEKUN Corporation, and has marketed 2,000 products of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs since Jan 1.
The first MARI Mart, meanwhile, was opened in October last year at Angsana Ipoh Mall, which is also one of the shopping malls under the supervision of UDA. UDA aims to open two more MARI Marts this year to strengthen local entrepreneurial activities.
In Melaka, UDA is welcoming entrepreneurial activities at Morten Walk. Morten Walk has a modern and trendy container cabin concept located next to Sungai Melaka and is close to tourist attractions such as the Kampung Morten traditional village, Melaka River Cruise and Menara Taming Sari. It is expected to operate in April and will offer 50 business spaces, especially for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs. – THEEDGEMARKETS.COM
