MALAYSIA HALAL PAVILION ON SHOPEE THAILAND PLATFORM LAUNCHED TO FACILITATE CROSS BORDER E-COMMERCE

Cross border e-commerce boosts trade and SMEs and expand international footprints for halal Malaysian products

The Malaysia Pavilion, a cross border e-commerce platform established by HYT Cross Border Sdn Bhd (HYT) on Shopee Thailand was launched today by His Excellency Datuk Jojie Samuel, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Thailand at Ramada Plaza, Bangkok Menam Riverside.

The Malaysia Halal Pavilion will provide end-to-end support services to halal Malaysian products to expand their international footprints into Thailand with its integrated solutions in custom clearance, warehouse and cross-border logistics, trademark protection, sales, marketing, and promotions.

There will also be B2B matching activities with the trade and plan is already afoot to provide another two platforms for the products to enhance their business opportunities through other platforms by Q3. HYT also plans to have an expansion globally in the near future for Malaysia merchants to benefit through cross border e-commerce.

The launching ceremony jointly hosted by MATRADE Thailand and HYT Cross Border Sdn Bhd (HYT) saw guests treated to a vast array of halal Malaysian food from participating products such as Chek Hup, Mister Potato, Luxury, Hwa Tai, Tora, Captain Oat, Okio, Premier Salute, Himalaya, Ah Weng Kor and Vits.

Other guests who attended the launching event included Mr Mohamed Hafiz Md Shariff, Trade Commissioner of Thailand for MATRADE, Datuk Danny Tan, Managing Director of HYT Cross Border Sdn Bhd and HYT Cross Border (Thailand) Co Ltd, Thailand top social media influencers and representatives from the trade.

“The Thailand market is a market of significant growth with vast opportunities for business collaboration. MATRADE is delighted with the launch of Malaysia Halal Pavilion established by HYT Cross Border Sdn Bhd (HYT) as it will assist in creating more opportunities for halal Malaysian products to make their presence in the Thailand market,” said Mr Mohamed Hafiz Md Sharif, Trade Commissioner for MATRADE Thailand.

“Cross-border sales is a growing trend in Southeast Asia, supported by increasing internet adoption and greater use of e-commerce.

Today, an online shopper in Thailand can directly buy from sellers or online stores from anywhere in the world. Shopee has been building out our cross-border capabilities since 2016, and we look towards enhancing the experience with partners like HYT Cross Border Sdn Bhd,” said Wong Chee Mun, Head of Cross Border, Shopee Thailand.

“This is indeed a very significant milestone for HYT Cross Border Sdn Bhd in extending its international footprints, after China.

“We are excited about the opportunities to assist and facilitate cross border e-commerce export of halal Malaysian products to Thailand through the Malaysia Halal Pavilion on Shopee Thailand.

The demand for halal products has accelerated significantly in Thailand and halal Malaysian products are produced with the highest level of care in manufacturing – not only in refraining from using forbidden ingredients, but in caring for the environment, social well-being, and good governance,” said Mr Kyle Keah, Chief Executive Officer of HYT Cross Border Sdn Bhd (HYT).
