The recent attack at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow was said to be done by Islamists, which came out of the blue though the United States claimed to have warn Russia a few months earlier.
While the Western world presses the theory that it was because of Russia’s history in foreign intervention and dealing with mostly the Shia Muslims world, that is just one part of the story.
Russia is more suspicious about the Ukraine link to the event due to the fact that it has launched a military operation there since 2022.
I believe the truth is somewhere in between. For the West, as the attackers are Islamists, it feeds into their narrative about Muslim terrorism and everything connected to that.
As an adversary, and despite being forewarned of the impending attack, Russia won’t be easily persuaded that that’s the case given what happened decades ago in Afghanistan when the West supplied weapons and financial backing to the mujahidin before encouraging countries near Russia’s border to join NATO.
Regardless of who the planners of the Moscow attack, I believe it’s just a distraction tactic.
The West is bleeding profusely from the behaviour of their ally, Israel in Gaza for over six months now. Accused of complicity in genocide is probably the last straw for Western capitals to take.
They also found themselves going against public opinion. Reports recently put President Biden’s approval on handling of the Gaza crisis at just 27 per cent. Meanwhile, in Britain, 7 out of 10 were concerned about the crisis.
A poll in February said Canadians were skeptical Israel will be able to accomplish its aims where one-in-five believe it can eliminate Hamas in Gaza and free all the hostages, but 29 per cent believe neither is possible.
But, in contrast to helping Ukrainians from all walks of life after the Russian invasion, the West, particularly the US, while professing trying to help Palestinians, yet are still arming the Zionist regime.
Truly, the international law and established human rights institutions including the United Nations modeled after the West’s so called values, are just there to serve Western interest.
If not, why would they let Israel continues its brutal and indiscriminate attacks against the Palestinians which also now include Lebanon and Syria?
And, amidst all this, an Israeli holding a fake French passport came to Malaysia mid-March allegedly to eliminate someone by using six pistols and 200 bullets? The police is right, this is too fishy a story to take.
Going back to last November, a local newspaper reported that police were working to detect foreign intelligence operatives, including Malaysians hired by Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, conducting clandestine operations here.
Beefing up security is a most welcome move. Much more important is to ensure Zionist tentacles do not threaten this nation too. Ramadan 2024 should be remembered for something better than that. – BACALAHMALAYSIA.MY
