Pos Malaysia Berhad (the Group) today announced the Group’s results for the third quarter, ending 30 September 2021.
Revenues for the quarter declined by 13.9%, compared to the same period last year, to RM536.3 million, primarily driven by slower domestic and international mail.
The Group reduced its loss before tax to RM40.5 million for the quarter, compared to a loss of RM119.4 million in the previous quarter, primarily attributable to effective implementation of the turnaround plan, including rigorous cost management.
For the nine-month period ended 30 September 2021, the Group recorded a loss before tax of RM206 million, on a revenue of RM1.66 billion.
Pos Malaysia Berhad’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Charles Brewer said, “Despite the continuing COVID-19 challenges, we are beginning to see the signs that the turnaround plan is starting to deliver.
We are redoubling our efforts to turnaround the business, address ‘foundational’ service gaps and to transform our business to position Pos Malaysia as the provider of choice for e-commerce parcels, whilst carefully managing expenses, cashflow and liquidity.
The Pos Malaysia team has worked tirelessly to keep Malaysians connected throughout the pandemic and I would like to thank our more than 20,000 employees for their continued and unwavering efforts.” – BACALAHMALAYSIA.MY
