Klang Valley Floods: 719 Victims Relocated To Relief Centres

A total of 719 flood victims from 175 families in Selangor have been evacuated to seven temporary relief centres (PPS) as of 8am today, following flash floods from continuous downpour since 10pm yesterday.

According to the Selangor Civil Defense Force state disaster management committee, the Klang district’s PPS are Kampung Johan Setia Mosque, (which accommodates 195 victims from 49 families) and MPKK Kampung Jalan Kebun, Batu 7 (58 victims, 15 families).

Two PPS were opened in Petaling: Dewan Camelia Putra Heights (210 victims, 53 families) and Masjid Putra Heights (227 victims, 51 families).

Hulu Langat has 29 victims from seven families at Sekolah Kebangsaan Ulu Semenyih.

The number of victims in the other two PPS, namely the Balai Raya Pekan Bangi Lama (Hulu Langat) and the Taman Gemilang Hall (Sepang) are still being counted.

Several areas in Selangor were again hit by flash floods, following hours of heavy rain since 10.30pm yesterday.

Areas affected include Section 13, Section 22, Padang Jawa, i-City in Shah Alam.

In Klang, the areas affected are Sentosa Park; GM Klang; Klang Dynasty Condominium; Klang City; Chi Liung Park; Taman Permai Indah Apartment and Jalan Yadi. – NST ONLINE
