POS MALAYSIA LAUNCHES SPECIAL EDITION STAMPS TO COMMEMORATE 52 YEARS OF WORLD POST DAY

The collection, under the theme ‘Honouring Our Past, Connecting Our Future’ reaffirms our core purpose to connect all Malaysians

Pos Malaysia celebrates 52 years of World Post Day (WPD) with a respectful nod to its past and to the value of personal connections.

WPD has been celebrated annually across the world since 1969, marking the advent of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and the significant contributions of postal operators globally.

Every year on the 9th of October, the UPU and through WPD, highlights the importance and contribution of postal services to the global community as well as honouring the incredible people who deliver the mail and parcels worldwide.

To mark this special occasion Pos Malaysia will be issuing a World Post Day special edition stamp collection under the theme ‘Honouring Our Past, Connecting Our Future’.

Pos Malaysia Group Chief Executive Officer, Charles Brewer said, “Pos Malaysia is incredibly proud to have been connecting Malaysians for more than 200 years.

“As we move forward together, we continue to honour our rich history as the oldest organisation in the country and fully value the role we play.”

The stamp collection will be available for purchase on Pos Malaysia’s website at www.pos.com.my from the 9th October 2021 and at selected post offices nationwide effective Thursday, 11 October 2021.

“We are celebrating World Post Day this year with empathy, humility and pride.

“ The past 20 months have been incredibly tough for many and that includes our frontliners who have worked tirelessly to serve the nation and keep Malaysians connected.

“ We would like to thank the more than 20,000 Pos Malaysia employees who have continued to deliver the smile in the last mile.”

“This unique stamp collection design honours our past, whilst also reaffirming our commitment to connect Malaysians.

“ We do so with humility and an enormous sense of pride,” added Charles.

The collection offers se-tenant stamps with illustrations of Pos Malaysia’s past and present.
