The University of Cyberjaya (UoC) continues to shine on the regional stage as it builds momentum in Asia’s higher education landscape, earning recognition among the top 450 universities in Asia in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026.

Recognised as a growing force in health sciences and innovation, UoC’s consistent presence in the regional rankings reflects its ongoing pursuit of academic excellence, impactful research, and strong industry engagement that shape the future of healthcare and technology.

In the latest rankings, UoC achieved an impressive rise to #434, a significant leap from last year’s #625 position, while maintaining its standing among the 48 Malaysian universities featured this year. UoC’s inclusion reaffirms its growing prominence as one of the nation’s leading private universities, distinguished by its strong foundation in health sciences. The 2026 edition evaluated 1,526 institutions across the region, underscoring the growing competitiveness of Asia’s higher education landscape.
Professor Dr David Whitford, Vice Chancellor of UoC said, “Being recognised once again in the QS Asia University Rankings is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our academic community. At the University of Cyberjaya, we strive to create a transformative learning experience where research, innovation, and global engagement go hand in hand.

“Our performance in international indicators reflects the trust students and partners around the world place in us. We remain focused on strengthening our research ecosystem and delivering world-class graduates.”
The QS Asia Rankings assess universities based on criteria such as academic and employer reputation, faculty qualifications, research impact, and international outlook, areas in which UoC continues to demonstrate strong performance.
Building on this, the results reaffirm UoC’s ability to attract global talent and foster a vibrant, multicultural learning environment, supported by a well-balanced faculty-to-student ratio that enables a personalised educational experience.
Furthermore, UoC’s achievement reinforces the University’s commitment to academic excellence and global competitiveness, particularly in the fields of health sciences, medicine, and allied health education. Its growing reputation in these areas continues to position UoC as one of Malaysia’s most dynamic private higher education institutions.

The University’s success also contributes to Malaysia’s rising recognition as a regional education hub, advancing the nation’s reputation for delivering world-class higher education across disciplines such as health sciences, technology, and innovation.
Looking ahead, UoC aims to further enhance its regional and global position through continued investment in research excellence, global partnerships, and academic innovation. Key initiatives include expanding industry collaborations, strengthening postgraduate development, and increasing research impact and citations per paper.
As UoC celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, the University remains committed to nurturing a new generation of future-ready graduates through a combination of academic quality, cross-border learning experiences, and research-driven education that benefits communities locally and globally. – BACALAHMALAYSIA.MY
