Stable and corruption-free, Perikatan Nasional (PN) is banking on its ‘Caring, Clean and Stable: Malaysia Gemilang’ manifesto for the upcoming general election.
Tagged ‘PN Best’, Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the coalition is also confident that the manifesto would also attract investors into the country.
“It has been proven that the PN government was free from corruption and any misappropriation and none of its leaders were charged in court for wrongdoings.
“The same cannot be said of other parties where there were leaders who have been jailed for corruption and some are still being trialed.
Takiyuddin, who is defending the Kota Baru Parliamentary constituency in the 15th General Election, told this to reporters at a gathering at Kota Baru Bersatu’s operation room here last night.
The manifesto promises to offer a slice of the cake to all Malaysians, and is broken into 12 main pillars, with 30 approaches that would be beneficial to all sections of the community.
On another note, Takiyuddin, who is the caretaker Energy and Natural Resources Minister, said Muhyiddin has stressed that Kelantan would get cash royalty payment once PN wins the election.
He added this promise was made by Muhyiddin during a programme here last month.
“If PN is given the mandate, we will give the five per cent to Kelantan like the one received by Terengganu,” he added.
Asked about the bai’ah (pledge of loyalty), Takiyuddin said all Kelantan PN candidates, as well as those from Bersatu, have adopted the pledge.
“They adopted the bai’ah a day before their names were announced as candidates. They also underwent integrity screening and all passed the tests.
“Parliament just introduced the anti-hopping party law but Pas introduced bai’ah a long time ago to prevent candidates or leaders from betraying the party,” he added. – NST ONLINE
