UiTM Signed MoU With Maybank To Integrate The Bank’s e-Payment Solutions, Products And Services Into Its Campus

Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) to integrate the bank’s e-payment solutions, products and services into its campus.

UiTM said future initiatives would include Maybank Day, a day dedicated to engaging students on financial literacy, career workshops and entrepreneurship engagements.

The latter includes introducing a module on Digital Entrepreneur to further instill the spirit of digital entrepreneurship among students.

UiTM said the Maybank Cashless Campus initiative would help the university to ensure that the next generation would truly be a cashless generation.

“With Maybank@Campus, Maybank will set up a bank branch on the campus by 2022 to provide banking facilities and financial advisory services to the campus community,” it said in a statement today.

The MoU was signed by UiTM industry, community and alumni network deputy vice-chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Rahmat Mohamad and Maybank community financial service Malaysia head Datuk Hamirullah Boorhan.

Hamirullah said the MoU paved the way for a more comprehensive scope of collaboration between Maybank and UiTM, as well as help to promote greater exchange of ideas.

“I am certain that this newly-established foundation will open doors to more opportunities for UiTM and Maybank to collaborate in the future, to implement programmes that will benefit our youth,” said Hamirullah.

Meanwhile, Rahmat said the MoU would open doors to more diverse experiences and appealing ideas between the two institutions.

“In light of the collaboration, this MoU will act as a bridge to connect Maybank with all the campuses carrying the logo of UiTM throughout Malaysia,” he added. – NST ONLINE
