Finally, Parliament is dissolved.
We will have a new election that hopefully will banish whatsoever about the legitimacy of the next government.
Until voting day, whenever that will be, the voters will have the chance and a little time to decide who to vote.
My take is – the voters have already decided who they will support and it’s definitely not the parties that make up Pakatan Harapan (PH) which have now gone separate ways.
Why?
Plenty of reasons. One big aim is to punish PH for their lies, arrogance and hubris after winning the 14th general election in 2018.
Why do you think Barisan Nasional has been winning by-elections and state elections since PH governed the country?
The number one target will be the leaders and senior leadership of PH.
There should be no doubt whatsoever that leaders of parties that are the rivals of BN will feel this backlash.
One would also speculate that they might even lose if they contested. If 2018 can he an example, such a scenario is not impossible.
In fact, look at what happen in Johor state election, many if not all of PH linked parties even lost their deposits.
Two who are called ‘Atok’ and ‘Abah’ will he at the receiving end of the people’s wrath.
Abah had experienced it in Johor, now come the turn for Atok and others.
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob might not have served long but people can see how his leadership brings calm, which is a good sign for BN.
BN, not only since 2018 but even before knows fully well their rivals tactic which is to accuse everything under the sun and should be prepared by now to deal with that.
I believe BN’s job will be made easier by the electorate’s being aware of such strategy though one should not be overconfident.
2022 vote which is the 15th general election will see a more stable government managing this country.
There should also be a movement to not support those who use ‘fitnah’ in their campaign.
The tagline should be #PunishAtokAbah, #Rejectliars and #Jangantipupengundi.
