After the floods, it’s politics again. And, Najib too.
First, the case or allegations about the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC) chief.
Many are clearly discussing the Anti-Corruption Advisory Board (ACAB) decision to clear MACC chief commissioner of any corruption or abuse of power in acquiring stocks for a family member in 2015.
There is no need to discuss further as the public is split three ways between those who agree with the decision, those who disagree and those who remain neutral.
The same can be said about former PM, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and others who are championing the call to allow a one off RM10k withdrawal from the EPF.
It must be said that as a former finance minister, he knows what he is talking about. Unfortunately, the present leadership seemed uninclined to agree.
Not to be outdone, another former PM, Dr Mahathir Mohamad admitted that he might not contest in the next general elections.
This is a no brainer – he should have quit politics a long time ago. His time as PM with Pakatan Harapan is a total failure.
Then there is the issue about how long Muafakat Nasional will exist as some in both Pas and Umno are seemingly on a different path.
Lastly, the Covid-19 pandemic. Talk about a fourth booster jab has picked up recently and some has ridiculed this.
It is a simple matter made complicated. If it’s confirmed, it will be another round of strengthening our immunity.
Amidst all of these developments, however, no more is said about a former Bank Negara Governor and family especially about their profiting from 1MDB.
How easily Malaysia’s politics distract from a really juicy and long running story that if it happens elsewhere, will surely be a dream for every journalist in the land to dig in and report for as long as it takes.
How about Jho Low? Still until today, nobody, knows where he is. A mystery yet to unravel.
After all these years of being in the limelight and success in avoiding detection, he must be the greatest escape artist, ever.
Better than Copperfield and the others put together. A movie about this Malaysian escape artist, anyone?
